Zero Post
Welcome to the Files from the Isle. I'm an American student of Irish descent, studing in Dublin. If you didn't already know that, then welcome. This blog was created to supplement my podcast, Sound Files from the Emerald Isle. If you don't like the title of this or that, or think they're cheap literary tricks, let me try to explain their rich history.
Dublin has many statues and monuments in it; some are big, some are small, but most of them have been given a nickname, or several, by locals, that follow a theme.
James Joyce is know as the Prick with the Stick.
Oscar Wilde? The Fag on the Crag.
Molly Malone - The Tart with the Cart (or the Dish with the Fish)
and so on. /source.
So following in the footsteps of the Dubliners (as I so often plan to do) I have given my blog and my podcast a joint nickname: the Files from the Isle. I do not mean to be so presumptuous as to think this is something that warrants such attention, but that was the most fitting title that I could devise. Many thanks to Ben for his brainstorming help.
